For Chinese New Year our friend Sally took us to a few temples. This one is in JinShan which is not too far from where we live. We took a nice drive up the coast to get there. Then we went to her father's house for dinner, and fun. After midnight we went to a hot spring motel where we enjoyed a nice hot tub filled with spring water.

You can't really see it, but this is a gold coin candy. It's a giant Euro. These are traditional treats for the new year. They represent wealth. We decided that everything in Chinese New Year represents either money or family.Sally preparing flower tea for us. It was very tasty.
Playing MahZhong. This was my first time, and I was confused and overwhelmed.Alec dancing in the new year (around midnight. We tried to put him to bed, but he wouldn't have it). Just like with all home videos we only managed to capture the tail end of it, and we missed the good parts, but it's still pretty indicative of Alec's personality. He loved that fan!
After the hot spring motel. It was like 2:30 in the morning at this point. Alec was finally asleep. He loves excitement, but it sure does tucker him out.
